Messy Church NZ Newsletter, February 2022

Kia Ora,

The National Messy Church Team, extend a warm welcome of hope and encouragement to you all as

we face a third year of challenges during 2022. We are reminded by the psalmist in Psalm 23, that

even though he may face the deepest darkest thoughts of despair, or situations, he has the

assurance that in God's presence, guidance and love, he will be guided through to a safe and secure

place. Like the psalmist, we therefore need not fear if we continue to focus and trust in the

comfort of God who loves us.

We have a few things in our flexible pipeline for this year as we seek to offer ways in supporting

you, your teams, and your communities through Messy Church. There continues to be movement and

change as some MC's have either just started out, or are recreating to the changes we are all

negotiating through, while others have faced closure or hibernation for a season.

We continue to be available to you all, through your Regional Coordinator or direct contact through

email, phone or via Facebook.

We are available for ongoing training and workshops and continue to offer this support, although

with the health and safety regulations at present, this may look a little different. This could be

face-to-face in regions or online, depending on what best suits your situation.

If you have specific ideas or areas you would like training or raising awareness in, please let us

know.

Our first project for this year is supporting the International Messy Church Conference being

held in the UK in May. Because of so many covid limitations, the conference is happening both in

person and online, with input from around the world. NZ has been invited to create a presentation

online which will then be facilitated by local leaders on-site. Our session is titled: "We All Belong

to the Global Messy Church Family”.

As you also all belong to the global family, we are keen to hear from you if you have any

ideas, suggestions or examples of how you have supported your families/communities or grown your

teams. How has your Messy Church impacted in your community? We would like to include a 'Kiwi

flavour' of how we are family both locally, nationally and internationally. Photos with small

explanations that we can include in our PowerPoint would be ideal. Please email to Jocelyn.

Share your Messy Services and events on Facebook!

We encourage you to share your suitable photos of activities and events on to the Messy Church

NZ Facebook page as a great way of promoting your own Messy Church and encouraging others

around the motu. A big thank you to those already doing this.
